I don’t know how you feel about it. Maybe you think I should just get over it. Maybe I’m just over-reacting. That’s definitely within the realm of possibility. I mean, maybe it’s not really a big deal.
But it drives me crazy and I don’t understand how it benefits anyone anymore. I know it used to be relevant; it served a practical purpose. Yet I think it’s become a because-we’ve-always-done-it-that-way relic of a ritual and that just IRKS me!
I want to sleep. I want to bury my head under the covers and stay there all day. I’m tired. And tired makes me grumpy. I have a headache, my eyes hurt. And I’m reactionary, I’m short-tempered, less open-minded and don’t get me started on all the stupid drivers out there.
It’s going to take me at least a week to recover; to feel normal again. It always takes that long.
How about you? How does it affect you? How do you feel about Day Light Saving?

Just gained the hour back over here Diana and very thankful. Yet it takes a week of adjustment. Kids go to bed later in day light saving…..thats not a plus but playtime at the beach is good.

Perhaps those who feel that we “need” daylight savings never heard of that new-fangled invention called electricity? Or that getting up an hour earlier means that you have to pay more for it when you turn on that light an hour earlier?

Its human to hold on to things … just like we hold on to the frustration and resistance when people aren’t open to new ways of thinking … or our way of doing things.

WE cannot escape it so we might as well enjoy it. Ours is at the end of March…. I just don’t like to lose an hour of sleep but love it in Autumn when I get it back. 🙂

I may be hated for this, but I love daylight savings time. I love that it stays light out longer. However, I honestly think we should just leave it where it is now. Spring forward once, lose one hour forever & move on. I think most people like the later hour for dark but hate changing time twice a year.

I don’t get it either, Diana! I know they dropped it in the state of Arizona, so maybe more states will follow suit. I think DST originated with agriculture years ago. I remember talking about this with Van when I first met her!
I hate falling back, but love springing forward, so I guess I’m okay with it, actually! But I do know many people are negatively affected by the light and sleep changes. 🙂

But, that’s the thing, Kelly! No respectable farmer would even consider attempting to change their animals’ schedule… Animals pay attention to THE SUN, cocks crow at daybreak and couldn’t give a damn about what our clocks say. Period.

Drives me crazy too, esp this spring one– feel so tired for days. But your saying– just because.. etc. can apply to so much– sometimes change is a good thing!

Yes sometimes change is a good thing Lisa – I agree, but it should have a logical reason. Especially since traffic accidents and suicides increase on Monday after.
I think a good change would be to scrap the time change haha. ❤

You’ll be fine as soon as you take to Greenwich Mean Time (for navigational purposes). I live almost exactly on the Greenwich Meridian (0 degrees Longitude) and I’m as sane as

Oh but it does change we have GMT in the winter and then British Summer Time (+ 1 Hour). Doesn’t bother me, I keep burglars hours.
You can find me near here. Where, at midnight, one can stand across two different time zones for a moment. One needs nerves of steel. 😀 😀

Well, of course I totally agree with you on the “we’ve always done it that way” thinking. That’s just a particularly annoying form of: “It was ever thus!” (And you know how I feel about that. 🙂 )
But Daylight Savings Time never bothered me. It shakes things up and makes it all a tiny bit less boring.

I HATE daylight saving time! I still am not used to it. The Monday afterward is supposed to have a spike in suicides and traffic accidents. I slept until 8:00!!!!

My sleep is already messed up because of my accident. No, daylight savings time never messed me up in the past.

Long story but I haven’t stuck hard to sleeping regime in past few months. It’s simply getting enough, long enough sleep. That’s where I’m at.
