Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift. – Regina Brett
You know how sometimes nothing seems to work out?
You try and you try, and the harder you try, the more it all comes apart at the seams.
And if you dare tell someone about it, you’re asked, “What are you gonna do it about it?”
and told to have a better attitude
to think more positively
and stop being a whiner… suck it up, princess.
So you keep it to yourself.
You pretend everything’s fine
and you lay awake at night, your mind turning it over and over and over until you’re sure you’ve gone mad.
And then something happens to remind you that life is a gift.
Help, in the form of exactly what you need, comes from family or a friend.
You hear the uninhibited laugher of a child playing outside.
A butterfly in all its splendor lands close by – as if it’s a messenger from God to tell you that you’re loved.
You become the pleasantly surprised witness to the most glorious sunset in the history of mankind.
~ HUMP DAY CHRONICLES ~
What has recently reminded you that life is a gift?
Aww, what an excellent reminder that everything (eventually) works out just like it’s supposed to. And it came at just the right time…I’ve had more downs than ups lately, and this was a lovely reminder that those will pass. Thank you, my friend! ❤

This is so true. It seems shortly after I start grumbling about something, I’ll see an image of a starving child or hear news of a war-torn country and realize how insignificant my worry is. That doesn’t mean I don’t still have to deal with my problem, but it gives me better perspective.
Thanks for visiting my site. Much appreciated!

Diana, I love those moments that remind us that life is a gift–your examples gave me the warm cozies. My most recent examples happened this weekend when my oldest son took me on a new river trail and when a book I started reading was so encouraging that I finished it in record time. ❤ Family, nature, and books are some of my most treasured gifts.

In 2012, when I received biopsy results that included the word “benign”, I was reminded of the gift that is life. ❤ Van

This morning, a chickadee singing persistently, in the midst of the car traffic and airport noise and sneeze-inducing pollen. Lifted my spirits!

Being at a beautiful family wedding, which was glorious enough in it’s own right. Then spending the evening being told by person after person how much I was loved. And I returned it of course! 🙂

I find when I hear a tragic story or I speak to my cousin who is very sick with cancer, that I remember what I do have, I remember to be grateful for my health, my life and the gift of this moment that can change so quickly. So true Diana, these signs come to all of us differently. 🙂

Someone here in the blogisphere recently said, “if we all threw our problems on the middle of the floor and saw each other’s problems, we’d take our own problems back.” Was it you that said that Karen?
Thanks, as always, for weighing in. ❤

Seeing trees in bloom, in the most amazing places… Lilac, Apple, Pear, Cherry, Hawthorn… And stopping to inhale. Deeply. Gratefully. (LOL, but only AFTER looking for insects; )

We drove in to Toronto yesterday (Lee Valley Tools to stock up for a heavy gardening weekend; ) and there were BANKS of Lilac in so many different places along the 401, and tonnes of them right in Scarborough… You can always tell where the old homesteads used to be, when you’re out driving this time of the year… All linking us to those who’ve long passed – I LOVE IT!!
