The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 20,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 7 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Well, I see you’re more of a sell-out than I am. Wait! I mean you sold out more performances! 😛
Congrats on a very successful blog and year (and a hope for many, many more for you). I’m really pleased to know you, Lady Di! You’re one of my shining examples of a “good and really decent person.”

That sounds interesting, but I apparently need to be a subscriber to read the full article. (Hey, that means you subscribe to the WSJ. Classy! 😎 )
Any chance I could talk you into a copy-n-paste into an email for me? I totally understand if that violates your sense of propriety.

no I’m not a subscriber and I couldn’t get the full story either… 😦 sorry.

Drat! I wonder if I can find it re-posted (or at least talked about) elsewhere… (I’ll let you know.)

Just read it. (Thanks, again!) I was familiar with nearly all that he’s talking about, but it’s really cool to see it put together that way. He has a point of view, obviously, and might be just slightly overstating some of it, but the thing is: even slightly overstated, it still is really is amazing on both counts: that this universe exists and that intelligent life evolved on Earth.
There has been something for quite a while called the Rare Earth Hypothesis that’s about all this. What you sent me gives me some nice starting points for a post about the REH. (So thanks, again, again! 🙂 )

Where did WordPress send you this Diana? I don’t know where to look for mine. Email? Notification? Dashboard? Duh-me.

Mark, I got an email notification as well. Last year, I saw it on my dashboard, but it’s not there this year. Good luck finding it!

Thanks, Judy. I guess I’m not getting one, then. I didn’t get one last year, either. 😦

Why not? Did you contact them? You don’t need WP to tell you that your numbers are outta sight. But, the stats do provide other info that you might find useful.
Best wishes to you and Karen in 2015. Ellie B., too. 😉

Thanks, Judy. Happy New Year to you and Dave and the family. Hey, guess what? Karen and I are going to Rico’s Ristorante tomorrow for our New Year’s Eve dinner! I nabbed coveted 7:30 reservations for two.

Have a blast at Rico’s! We stay home on New Year’s Eve. Dave grills steaks. We have shrimp cocktail and some carbonated grape juice. Then, at midnight, I continue my Mom’s tradition of banging pots and pans and yelling “Happy New Year!” (Mom passed in 2001, but I know she would approve.) 😉
