“While God waits for His temple to be built of love, Men bring stones.” ~ Rabindranath Tagore

I’m one of those people who feel guilty if I’m not running around doing this and that.

It doesn’t matter as much if it is important work as it does that I’m doing something.

This is probably partly due to the fact that I’m not a patient woman.

So while I’m waiting for approval, or waiting for people to get it, I keep myself busy with activities like bringing stones that won’t build what I need.

Some things take time to come to fruition.

Some things take hours, days, and years to pay off.

Most of these ‘things’ are qualitative as opposed to quantitative.

Like raising a child…

or bringing a dream to a place of reality.

It takes love, patience, understanding and stick-to-it-ness.

Things we can’t measure.

One has to listen, to understand, to support, and yes to…wait.

So why am I, and so many others obsessed with immediate, measurable, I-can-count-the-widgets, definable, quantitative results?

We need to stop…

breathe…

be present in the moment…

and wait.

We need to stop bringing stones if we want to build a temple of love.
