How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.
I once asked a man what he was passionate about and he replied, leadership. “Leadership of what?” I asked. “I just want to be a leader, it doesn’t matter what.”
I could be wrong, but that sounds a bit like a power grab to me.
It’s a bit sad, if you ask me. But it’s not an unusual answer.
So many of us seek the most coveted position, which isn’t a bad thing if we’re seeking it in an area that we are passionate about and we have the gift-set, but when we want it just for the sake of having it, we will find ourselves in an excruciating uphill journey that feels mostly like trying to run quickly under water.
Worst of all, we’ll not be happy with the experience.
Co Co had it right. I think she knew well that putting aside our wish to be something, and seeking to be true to who we are and act from where we are passionate, immediately releases us from unnecessary cares.
~ DIANA’S ENORMOUS BOOK OF QUOTES ~
So, what are you passionate about?

I am passionate about being a dementia advocate and it is thanks to you that I have realised this and can hone my skills and focus. You have been such a great example to me, Diana, and I can’t thank you enough xxx

So sorry, Diana, for not keeping up with your words of wisdom. I am so unsure of whether I should post the negative stuff about Anthony’s Dementia. Yes, I want to make a difference the way you do but I don’t want to terrify anyone about dementia – such a dilemma!

Hmmm I think the bad times are just as important as the good times Julie. My mom is experiencing memory loss and if it develops into dementia, I know I want to know what to expect and how someone like you deals with it, and what you have learned during your journey and can pass on to others who are just starting theirs. But that’s just me. ♡

I’m passionate about creativity in thinking, arts and empowering others with skills that I have acquired if they need it. I love meeting people to understand their quirks, their knowledge and helping them know what they’ve taken for granted all along that’s good about themselves.
I’m not worried about retirement because there’s some stuff I just don’t do enough because of full-time job.

Thank you for asking Diana. My passion has always been in teaching/coaching/training. Over the years it has evolved. Now in my “retirement” I teach yoga. Yoga has been a passion for nearly 20 years, and I’m excited to bring it to more and more people – especially in this stressful world!
Thanks for asking 💛

Passionate about the simplest of things in life….has always kept me motivated. A series of early life tragedies pointed me in this direction. Blessings in disguise.

Do what you love, love what you do and the joy should follow, rather than trying to be something you are not meant to be. I would hate being a leader, way too much pressure Diana.

Sorry to hear that Louise. I wonder if that is why many struggle in retirement, because what they were is not who they are. I hope you find your passion because you can live that no matter your job, or any job for that matter. Enjoy your retirement! ♡
