Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone
I think we all pretty much agree that when we are grateful for the things and beautiful people we do have in our lives, we feel richer.
I grew up learning that life is not always fair and it may be one of the most important lessons I’ve ever learned. Each time I’ve come face to face with an injustice, I had the important choice of remaining in a state of despair or being grateful for the resources available to me to work through it.
When we are intentional about turning our thoughts away from what we do not have toward what we do have, we are given the strength to endure and overcome our struggles.
Recognizing this truth is a blessing to those who embrace it.
Yet if we just recognize it without speaking our gratitude to those who give us strength, we miss a wonderful opportunity to bring joy to others.
So when someone lightens our load, do we express our thanks to them? When we hear someone say something good about another, do we tell them?
~ DIANA’S ENORMOUS BOOK OF QUOTES ~
Is there somebody you should thank today?

Diana I go a little overboard if someone lightens my load. Im a giver and love giving gifts to others. Not real good when someone is giving to me. I feel like I always have to pay them back. One day I hope I can receive a little without thinking I need to pay back all the time. Have a great day.
Kath.

I kinda feel I owe something in return too, but I’m getting over it. One of my friends once told me if I don’t receive graciously, I am robbing the giver of a blessing. ❤

Great reminder, Diana. I think we all too often get lost in our lives and don’t take the time to appreciate and verbalize our feelings.

Thank you for this reminder. There are two types of people I tend to forget to say ‘thank you’ when I should. The first are people who help me ALL the time, because they are there for me so often that I forget to say ‘thank you’ every single time. The second are people who do me a service in the course of their job and put in an extra effort. I may give a brief ‘thanks’ (always) but one of the things I try to do (for people who go out of their way) is to send them a ‘thank you card’ … and sometimes I forget.
