You may have noticed that I haven’t been writing as much as I used to.
You may also have noticed that I haven’t visited your blog as often as I have in the past.
And you would be right. It’s true.
But not because I don’t love writing. And not because I don’t love reading what you write. And not because I don’t love the community I have come to know here in the blogosphere.
I guess in losing Dad, I’ve been feeling a little lost myself and some things, even the things I love have not seemed as urgent to me at this moment in time.
But please know this.
I do value and miss you.
I love sharing my stories with you. I love that you share your stories with me.
And even though I’m not here as much as before I hope that when twilight drops her curtain down and pins it with a star, you remember that you have a friend though I may wander far.

Know that I share your need for thought and time away from your blog, Diana.
When my sister died suddenly, I was lost for awhile. And could not even write anything. Her death was completely unexpected (for father he had cancer and lived a long life).
Wishing you best memories, thoughts and inspiration.

The year my mom died, I was caught up in my own busy-ness, didn’t take the time to grieve. Later that same year (1980), John Lennon died. And I fell apart. It was so much more about my mother, but it manifested in strange ways because I tried to rush the process. Give yourself time. Healing will come, with an open heart. 💕

I can totally see that happen Van. It’s happened to me with other sad things in my life when I’ve pushed the emotions away and ended up losing it, sobbing even during an episode of the Smurfs or something.

We have friends in the world that we have never even met and those we have met. They are both friends anyway just because they belong to the same fellowship of humankind. As do you. That fellowship is your north star and something to sail by. It doesn’t waver so you can safely wander.

I remember the year my father passed away, Diana. It was as if that twilight sky of your quote hung throughout the day. There was a quietness, a stillness, a sense that if I don’t breathe too deeply, I won’t have to face the fact, the twilight sky will lift tomorrow morning. I felt as though, the curtain needed to stay hanging so I did not have to see the world without my father’s presence.
And then, it slowly lifted.
It took time. It always does, to shift the way the world feels when someone we love is gone.
