Today is Day Nine.
My daily routine has changed. And as with any change, it takes time to get one’s bearings.
And it’s going to take some time to get my rhythm back.
Looking back over the last five years, I can see how all my experiences have led me to this place right here, right now.
All the learning; the good times, the hard times, the fun times and the not-so-fun times – have taught me so much.
And I’m grateful. I feel joy. I’m excited to help build something amazing.
Here’s why. As of the first of May, I am happily employed at an amazing organization that makes a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of people.
Today is Day Nine.
I’m getting my rhythm back. I can’t wait to find new ways to build community.
I promise to tell you more about my new role in subsequent posts, but for now, I’ve got to get ready for work!
Until then, here are some pictures I took on the Mother’s Day weekend.
I couldn’t spend Mother’s Day with my mom or with my daughter, but an edible bouquet from Michaela delivered to my new office on Wednesday made my day!
On Mother’s Day, I took a long, long walk downtown. Here are some pictures I took.
Wishing you all a great day! 🙂

Diana it is wonderful to hear that you have found a fit that feels so right for you. Wonderful. Isn’t it lovely to see spring returning to our city? Lovely blooms.
I have in the last few years, both with work and blogging felt as you describe it, that life was getting me ready for just the right spots. It’s a comforting place to find oneself in.

As for the weather, I have to say I was shocked to wake up to about 4 inches of snow on the ground Monday morning! ❤

One more hearty “Congrats!” Way to go, Lady Di!
I think for all of us, the road always leads to “here” — but, of course, “here” is different for different people.

I’m sure you’ll be great in the new job. I too will need to find that rhythm again– just accepted a teaching job- teaching creative writing to 7 &8th graders (12-14 years old), in Newark, NJ at what’s now a charter school– it was the alternative junior high I first started teaching in years ago.. so it will be a big change from my “freedom.” But a chance to make a difference and return to the profession. All good, all a bit scary.

Awesome – Congratulations Lisa! A bit scary is a good thing, I think; it’s a nervous/creative energy. You will do well, I know it. ❤

Yes, Diana, I can see the steps that took/brought me to where I am. I sometimes ponder the different things that ‘could have’ altered my path. Not in a regretful way. Just in a curiosity way, like a story telling kind of way, how could the story have been different kind of way.
Congratulations on your new adventure in life! 🙂

I’ve done that too Colleen, just for fun! I’m convinced things work out the way they do for a reason, so I wouldn’t change anything. ❤

I would be afraid, if given the power to change, of what I wouldn’t have now. So I wouldn’t change either. 🙂

I absolutely know how I arrived where I am today. Some events were harrowing and heartbreaking, others were a blessing and a godsend, and still others were achieved by good old hard work and perseverance.
Great pics and great post! xo

What a lovely Mother's Day walk for you in Calgary. Yes, indeed. The fit is fine, Diana. So fine.
And to answer your question, yes, I know the events that have led me to where I am today. Perhaps my next step will also be as fruitful.
