It’s easy to forget, sometimes, amid the stories of greed, selfishness and corruption that there is love in this world.
And then something happens that reminds us.
Like the rescue of baby Lily who had been trapped in a car for fourteen hours when first responders rushed to her aid.
She wasn’t moving or breathing it seemed, but rescuers did not give up; they tapped her back, they performed CPR, they rushed her to hospital.
Several days later, playing with her dad, it’s hard to imagine she had been as good as gone.

Sometimes
it seems bleak, what is left of hope hangs on by a thread.
It feels certain that any effort to overcome would be futile. It would be easier to just give up.
But then LOVE shows up, in the form of a family member, a friend or even a stranger, and it makes the impossible possible.

Diana actions or wonderful heroes like this make me feel that there are more kind people in the world than selfish ones. It gives you faith in the human spirit. My experience is, its the tiniest things that matter and my family seem to know just when you need that love.

Me too Russ, the first time I saw news on it, my eyes were like a fountain! I, too, am sorry that Lily will grow up without her mother. ❤ But she will grow up and that's awesome!

I saw this story last week and was simply amazed at this rescue and how this baby was meant to live! It will be a story that baby Lily can pass on to her children’s children to let them know miracles do happen and people care. 🙂

How about the fact that all of the rescuers agree that they heard a voice from the car calling to them, “Save me.” A voice none of them can explain. It gives me chills, Diana, to think about the Power that wanted Lily to be saved. Thanks for you sharing today, my friend. ❤

Random acts of compassion and kindness occur everyday. And most often they are done by ordinary folks like you and me. It always gives me hope that the good outweighs the bad. And people aren’t as bad as we make them out to be.

Those 1st responders were amazing. You could hear them talking about the danger they were in and they did it anyway.

Oh too many times to mention…. and it is often from the most unexpected quarters… it makes one’s belief in the human race so much stronger…. after going through the flood of 2001 and loosing everything it was at this time when total strangers came to our aid, not for financial gain but just to help…. we still thank God for such people and try to do the same for others whenever we can….
