I cannot believe the weather Boston has been having!
It seems they just finish cleaning up snow when another snow storm hits.
Here in Canada, Manitoba has seen temperatures as low as -36c/-33f.
New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are dealing with snow banks that are 2 meters/7.5 ft. high.
Montreal has seen the longest stretch of cold weather in 80 years.
But we’re not seeing anything like that here in Calgary.
It’s as if we’re in a protective bubble. On the weekend it did snow, but the snow melted on Monday as temperatures rose to 13c/56f – unbelievably unseasonal!
Please forgive me. Don’t be mad.
I’m not trying to be insensitive – honest!
This is not the norm for Calgary. And if Bostonians have accepted their fate as Canadians, then Calgarians are embracing their fate as Californians.
Just look at that blue sky! Can you see the sun’s reflection on the high-rise in the distance? There’s got to be some snow somewhere, right? So I continued on in search of snow.
And there it is, I found snow. These two snow banks in front of Mission crossing have got to be almost 2 ft. high!
I know it doesn’t seem fair. We’ve been quite fortunate this winter.
But don’t you worry, March is typically our heaviest snowfall month; that ought to make the skiers and snowboarders happy.
And to tell the truth, I’m ready for some snow!
~ HUMP DAY CHRONICLES ~
Maybe you should be considering a trip to Calgary for a break from winter?

Diana … I’d miss SOME of the snow, too. When I lived in Syracuse, there was an ice festival every January. After so many no-snows that month, it was moved to February.
Beautiful photos. Those musicians must be loving the weather right now. Wishing you a wonderful spring and hope your water table is just fine. 😉

Judy, I love that they moved the festival to February instead of cancelling it all together.
Yes, it was a beautiful day! Calgary is much more like winter now. We’ve had snow since and temperatures have dipped to -22c/-8f with the wind chill! Fun times. 🙂

No need to apologize, Diana.
Spring is on its way! So until the temps are high enough to melt what has fallen, we may as well do as we would when given lemons-we make lemonade. So while we have the snow, let’s make snowmen!

Diana, I’m certain many would only be too happy to give you their snow. Calgary looks practically balmy! I wouldn’t complain. 🙂

We’re getting February temps here in Minnesota, but still not a lot of snow (so far — March and April can be snowy months). But it’s been a mild enough winter that I saw someone out walking in shorts the other night, and some friends have been talking about opening a tropical resort here someday… complete with palm trees.

Central New York is doing its best to outdo Boston in snowfall … Last night’s activity: bought a roof rake at the hardware store (some assembly required) and cleared off the roof in the front of my house. There was already enough snow on the ground that I didn’t need a ladder– not that I could have gotten to it in the shed! Tonight? The back of the house. Ice dams be damned! Pass the ibuprofin, please …

We never had a January here in Ontario this year either, but February sure has been making up for it with a VENGEANCE!!!

Yeah, eh?! What’s up with that, anyway? Whatever happened to the gradual slide from one season into another? (At least that’s what I remember happening when I was a kid; )
Although it hasn’t been above frreezing during the whole month of February here, temps have been jinking up and down [going from -5 to -22 with all the speed and frequency of a toilet seat; ]

It is good timing haha Jean.
I’m not a fan of winter, as you know, but even I have missed the snowfluffies and then there’s the whole concern of water levels in our rivers, etc., we need enough precipitation to maintain our city. 🙂

It does seem a bit unreal. Here in New Jersey, we have cold, but not much snow. Just returned from a few days in Utah skiing– and they really could use more snow!
