“Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.” ~ Carl Bard
For me, 2013 has been a year of endings and beginnings. A time of reflection, reconnection and dreaming.
I took many trips back to my childhood and wrote about my friends, family trips and memories, the imaginings and dreams I had as a child and the sheer joy of play.
I was intentional about reconnecting with family and worked hard at living in the moment. I walked away forever from my 40’s and celebrated my half century milestone by throwing myself a party.
And I left full-time employment to pursue a dream that would align with my vision for the future – culminating with the creation of The Other Bottom Line.
2013 has been a time of whiteboards, creativity, exploration and passion.
More than ever before I have a clear direction of where I want to go and who I want to be.
I know that 2014 will be the year of hard work and doing whatever it takes to realize my future.
~ DIANA’S ENORMOUS BOOK OF QUOTES ~
What was your theme for 2013?
What does 2014 hold for you?

I did not realise before that you had left full time employment to start ‘the other bottom line’. I assumed that it was simply something that you were doing on the side. How brave and challenging that move must have been for you, to give up the security of income and the ‘normality’ of what was and step out into the unknown. I admire your integrity and your drive.
It inspires me to do the same (ie begin again). Love that quote 🙂
Best wishes for a great 2014.

Brave or stupid, not sure which. I just wasn’t happy and, good or bad, I’m a risk taker by nature. It’s coming on crunch time now and I have to work my tail off to make it work. We’ll see how it goes.
Thanks for your encouragement as always – really needed it today. 🙂

I know only too well the hard early days of making a new business venture work.
It would be even harder the line of work that this is because it requires other people to come on board.
However, you are a people person and a great organizer (and determined) and I am sure in time it will be as you imagined it could be.
Thinking of you striding forward on this .

You’ve definitely knocked 2013 out of the park, Diana, I’m really excited to see what you get up to in the coming year.
2013 was about acceptance, peace, finding happiness in everything, even if it challenged the heck out of me to do. 2014 will be about much of the same but I want to focus on living my truth a bit more, being fearless in my expression and accepting others exactly as they are.
Here’s to achieving everything our hearts desire in 2014!

I wish you well Andrea. You already seem fearless to me. I mean look how you’ve left your native land and wandered out to another one with a different culture and followed your dreams, both you and your husband!
Here’s to living your truth! clink, clink

Thanks for this post, Diana, and for all of it. Perhaps my theme was …. gratitude! (Although give me a minute, and I’ll name lots of other themes). I don’t know what 2014 will bring, but I look forward to seeing you then.

Love this post! Happy belated 50th!! “2013 has been a time of whiteboards, creativity, exploration and passion.
More than ever before I have a clear direction of where I want to go and who I want to be.” This describes me perfectly. it’s almost as if you wrote that directly to me 🙂 I too now have a vision of where I want to go and 2014 is the year I make the big transition and I could not be happier with that decision. Wishing you all the best in 2014! Happy New Year Diana.
