A pep talk to ME and hopefully YOU
“C’mon!” says he
I am intrigued by personality tests and have filled out many over the years.
Some have struck a chord with me and others just seem way out there.
People have told me that I am courageous.
Truth is, I am often afraid but I am a dreamer and this often triumphs over my fears.
Following is an excerpt from one of the personality tests I’ve done.
It has often given me the courage to keep following my heart.
You are not afraid.
Even with headlines about war and mayhem and conniving and sinister people, you approach the world to embrace it, not to run from it.
Where other people anticipate danger in what may be lurking around the corner you expect to come across a unicorn or a marching band who will lead you to a mountain from which you’ll see things with brand new eyes.

I’ve never thought courage meant not being afraid. It means acting even when you are afraid!

Agreed! However I once thought it meant being fearless, weird huh?

I think even the most experienced actors will tell you they still get nerves. And even the most experienced skydivers (1000s of jumps) still feel the fear (it’s actually part of the attraction).
Only fools are fearless.
Having worked around dangerous equipment (and guns), there is also that fear makes you careful!

I’ve been thinking about this question – it’s more difficult to answer than I thought. It was hard to think of “qualities”. I’m not a very courageous person, quite the opposite. I give people the impression that I’m capable but half the time I’m just barely hanging on 😛 I guess faith gives me hope and in turn enables me to press on.

I’m all in for unicorns, marching band and rainbows. 🙂 Your trait fits from what I’ve seen. Not many people have courage. I think mine would be that I believe in possibility, so I’m also sort of a dreamer. Anything is possible!

Well…. given that unicorns and rainbows and magic and marching bands and mountains of glorious views always trump pessimism, despair, fear — and given you’ve put it the way you have (having always known fear) I’m going to go with courage too!
