“We’ll be Friends Forever, won’t we, Pooh?’ asked Piglet. Even longer,’ Pooh answered.”― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
I’ve known many wonderful people and have enjoyed the company of thousands.
Through them I’ve learned about many cultures and I’ve learned to embrace diversity with an open heart and mind.
I have shared sorrows and joys
I have laughed and cried – sometimes in the space of seconds!
Although only acquaintances, they have made my life richer.
Of close and life-long friends, I boast only a handful.
One of the greatest pleasures in my life are my friends.
One of the greatest challenges in my life are my friends.
They hold me up when I can’t stand…
and they confront me and don’t back down when I’m wrong.
Hard words between us cannot overshadow our mutual love and respect.
Not distance, nor time, nor circumstance can ever come between us.
They are a treasure…
a salve for my wounds…
I love them dearly.
A true friend…
warms you with her presence,
trusts you with her secrets,
and remembers you in her prayers.
We’ll be friends forever, won’t we?
Even longer.
Have you told your friends how much they mean to you lately?

Friends are SO important. I also have a handful of lifelong friends, “transient” friends–in my life for a year or two or ten, and now, of course, my internet friends; some of whom are on the way to becoming lifelong friends. We have to remember to appreciate our friendships, and know that sometimes a little effort is required if we want to keep them there and growing–just like any other relationship. ❤

Pooh is my hero! I look a lot like him, I love honey, I say, “Oh, bother,” a lot, and I’ve been hunting the elusive heffalump!
All seriousness aside, friends–true friends–are a treasure!

Well put my friend. I do consider you a friend, even though we have never met. If we ever do we would have an even deeper friendship. I love your outlook on life.

Thanks so much for your generous words! I wouldn’t have believed it 10 years ago, but I know that bonding happens online!
Friendship and family are two of my favourite ‘f’ words. 😉
