“He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.” – Albert Einstein

If you’re part of an organization or company whose mission and passion aligns with your own, you’re one of the lucky ones. Good for you!

But if you’re part of something that goes against some, most or everything you stand for yet you tow the company line and push others to do so as well, you’re not doing yourself or them any favours.

If you’re a manager, you probably have low employee retention. Most people can spot a phony a mile away. You’re hardly convincing when it’s obvious you don’t even believe what you’re saying. It’s not fair on you. It’s taking a toll on your spirit, your integrity, your health and your loved ones. And it’s not fair on the organization or company. You’re not giving them 100 per cent and you’re probably losing them business. Simply put – it’s not a fit.

Either make your vision and mission known and lead with integrity or plan to move on to another job. Don’t you think?
